JSA Social Media Branding

What is JSA?

The purpose of the Japanese Student Association is to promote Japanese culture within the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign community while serving as a bridge to allow Japanese students to flourish in a multicultural campus.

The Goal

Maintain a clear and engaging brand presence for JSA by creating content that increases visibility, strengthens community connection, and encourages student involvement. I wanted the organization’s social media to feel both informative and approachable while reflecting the club's energy and personality. Through consistent messaging, event promotion, and audience engagement, I focused on building trust, recognition, and a stronger sense of community among current and prospective members.

Instagram Reels

Planned, filmed, directed, and edited Instagram Reels to promote JSA events and strengthen the organization’s social media presence. I used platform trends, student-focused messaging, and my own humor to make event promotion feel more relatable and engaging rather than overly formal. Each reel was created with the goal of capturing JSA’s personality, increasing audience interaction, and encouraging students to participate in the community.
